Labour costs in Australia are far too inhibitive for the labour intensive plant Ellume had setup in QLD - it wasnt automated , and relied heavily on people..With out some sort of labour governement rebates on manufacutring support - trying to develop this in Australia is looking more and more uncompetitive to export world wide.

I'm certain that Ellume were waiting for government support in their rapid expansion here, and were also pivotting to the insane demand for RATs end of last year. Perhaps the cautious go slow attitude of ADO wasnt as bad as people think - imagine the panic should we have rushed with product out the door, sold millions, had poor quality product, issues with QC as it was rushed...made a motza for a quarter and then nose dive into the ground and with reputation in tatters.

Certainly thinking the steady as you go approach is going to pay dividends in droves, as per the old Chair and CEOs strategy to get our BRAND and product right - reputational damage such as what Ellume is copping is almost irrevertable.
