It’s not the political parties, nor even the source of the power that is leading to the sky high energy prices in the UK and Europe. It is the MARKET SYSTEM which has been allowed to price ALL POWER at the marginal cost, in this case of the extortionist price of gas. Perhaps a state owned electricity sector is safer, better and fairer.

However regardless of that no-one has turned off any of the green sources, certainly not the wind or the sun, and undoubtedly both are supplying more than a year ago. And probably at a lower cost, although they too will be getting the windfall from the high (unrelated to cost) electricity prices.

As for energy shortages in Germany etc, they will only be regretting they weren’t further down the road to safe, cheap, secure renewables.
