    Yes, I did.
    The 80's followed the 70's and it's period of stagflation.
    During the late 70's there had been lots of strikes and a real rise in wages, which, surprise, surprise led to higher unemployment.
    The wage rises were locked in due to wage indexation which would feed into prices.
    Later Bob Hawke was able to negotiate with the unions and bring about the "Accord" which encouraged wage restraint and emphasised productivity gains in return for wage increases.
    Also Committees were formed and Government eventually decided to deregulate the finance system and float the dollar.
