The Laws of Physics never change. Hydrogen will always be totally impractical.
Though speaking of things that have been just around the corner for 40 years, how much iron ore did west Africa export this year?
Irrelevant. Simandou will be built. China has no concept of 'too hard' or 'too expensive'. Simandou would be 0.3% of China's annual GDP and pay for itself in just 2-3 years by driving IO costs to <$60.
