that's the problem to understand the fact that though EV currently largest demand for Battery which requires high density energy but there are other applications that currently use lithium battery and can in feature survive on sodium or other technology meaning reduced demand for lithium and everyone knows supply demand equation here.. in my opinion.
also new technology not limited to sodium... Chinese auto maker claiming to have their technology with silicon by 2022 or 2023... in my opinion. (link provided above).
sodium battery development are happening not just because of widening gap but sodium battery more stable, safer and cheaper then lithium ion battery based on what link i provided above.. IMO.
but i agree lithium going to be used somewhere and there will be application for all... until people find absolute comparable and cheaper alternative in my opinion.
