EL/others: I do not hold CVN, but am most interested in the Thai grounds due to my holding in SUR.
EL: EXCELLENT post by you!! Having lived myself for more than 30 years in Asia and visited Thailand and most of the other Asian main markets many, many times in a regional supervisory function, I fully agree that "risk is everwhere". BUT, IMHO, risks are somehow always overestimated for ASIA. Especially, Thailand has a most pragmatic approach to handling its own destiny. (Interestingly and somewhat not surprisingly, Thailand never was a colony...).
I have full confidence that IF enough oil is continued to be found, CVN will do very well indeed.
So, the risk is in the field of exploration success and NOT in the political arena.
All as mentioned JIMHO, of course.
