    "lowered prices " "enhanced the appetite" haha what came first the chicken or the egg?

    Or was it China needed to replenish warehouse stocks so they shorted the LME copper market to lower the Cu price and hence lowered the contract prices of suppliers pegged to this reference????

    Why else would shorts on copper be at record levels on the LME at the same time as China going on a buying spree?

    I suppose the silver lining is those shorts have got to cover. Or will the same happen to the LME copper market as did the LME nickel market? The shorts were protected by changes in the rules and cancelling contracts on the LME.

    Why the LME was sold to the Chinese through a Hong Kong company has got be bafffled but we are now seeing the ramifications.
