The argument against seems to revolve around level playing fields and the best product will win ignores the reality that this market is corrupted to a huge degree and not subject to any of the WTO rules - it is even more rorted than agriculture and likely to remain that way for the foreseeable future.
Therefore for small companies local support all the way to production is essential.
The other argument advanced is maintaining common equipment with our major allies ie we buy what the Yanks buy assumes we get access to the same weapons - which the US have made VERY clear will not happen - they decide what tech will be exported and when - so their allies are always somewhat inferior in equipment - aviation is the most obvious example here.
If a product does a job easier, cheaper and more efficiently as MST does then in a perfect world it would be adopted and used - but the world we operate in is far from perfect - so we shareholders will need to grit our teeth and wait.
