Reality for me is, they have been running like crazy since the Discovery and done a massive amount of exploration in a short amount of time, despite the bullshit games on the State Forrest etc. We all became complacent to the progress they were making. A major would make the same progress over a much longer period.
With the Scoping Study they were overly ambitious which also comes with a young gun CEO. And got caught with the backlogs everywhere (finding people, getting lab time and consultant time etc) due to the massive uptick in the sector. My theory is they came out with the preliminary results of the Scoping Study for one scenario (the high grade, quick start plan) and decided it wasn't the scale they wanted it to be and created other limitations going forward (like plant size would possible be too small)..
Given they have a lot of holes not included in their mineral resource model yet at Gonny and at the same time they found this 2D conductor extension which looks massive(who if high grade material found, it would provide a stronger case for one of their scenarios), they have decided to re-invest the time to put more options into the Scoping Study and get some holes into that conductor to see what is down there.
Whilst i am disappointed, how do you kick a company for being too aggressive, for focusing dollars on drilling meters (rather than admin), and basically admitting they need more time to get it right.. Everyone will remember this first Scoping Study result (it sticks) so need to make sure it is right..
I really liked @HomeBrand thesis above and hope he is proved right. Anyway this is only my opinion, definitely not financial advice or a qualified one.. But I am still holding all my holding and intend to see this through.. The team have learnt a valuable lesson here and I feel we will get a much better report at the end of the year than what we would have gotten now.. Do your own research and lets hope this 1.6km Intrusion turns out to be what we all wanted Hartog to be!!!!
