Yes, she's quite experienced and a good addition to the team. Her experience would lead me to believe that they will be looking for other biomarkers that they can license from other institutions moving forward as she is more in the translation of laboratory work to clinical.
I don't really bite too much on management team unless they are a CEO or CMO of a highly successful company joining a smaller upstart biotech company. What drew me to CHM initially was seeing Dr. Syed Rizvi in the management team. He's highly experienced as CMO in developing CAR-T therapies. He finished a stint with Legend Biotech (BCMA CAR-T Cell Therapy which was recently approved and will most likely be a blockbuster drug) to join CHM, but his departure was definitely a flag for me. His replacement though seems to be a pretty good CMO as well so kudos to CHM.
Remember CHM offers sizeable sign-on bonuses, sizeable salaries, and stock options to sweeten the deal, which makes moving from big pharma more appealing and lucrative for these biotech execs. It's hard to make the assumption that their reason for joining the team is due to their due diligence alone. That salary package would be hard to turn down when 80-100% of my salary is a sign-on bonus on top of my salary. + options and shares.
