This is actually a very good project. The steel, although made with coal, is classed as green steel due to the offsets on shipping the coal and IO to other countries and boats coming back empty.
It’s a no brainer, by memory the build is 12 years but there are interim gains before the whole thing gets going properly.
My view on the delays to initiate has always been the big miners objections to it on the QT and the Libs in bed with them. Great project, love it. If you think about the logistics downstream too. How much does it benefit Northern Australia. Offshoot projects are massive. Social, tourism, housing etc etc, not to mention services. And a real long term opportunity. We still have so many resources.
