extending @Simoncho info, start a paper trading account and use whatever assumptions you come to in your learning journey to test them. Best to not test with real money as that becomes very expensive - been there .
My personal favourite chart indicators are moving averages, stochastics, rsi, fib (occasionally) and volume. I also think fundamentals are very important (when investing as opposed speculating). Lastly, you'll find charts are self fulfilling prophesies simply because that's what traders use.
