Lake Mead at current 29% capacity = 8,990,000 acre feet of water
1770 acre feet of water to produce 27,400 t LCE (Cypress development, also Lithium Americas water usage is similar)
0.019% of the water in Lake Mead required to produce 27,400 t LCE
It would take 50 lithium mines to use 1% of Lake Mead's water at 29% capacity
70% of Colorado river water goes to agriculture and 50 lithium mines would use 1%
Most farms in Arizona are using more water than a lithium mine would
Pistachios and alfalfa's are not critical minerals or a matter of national security
{13:10 in the video} Does it make sense looking back that agriculture was allowed to develop to the extent that it has?
Lithium mining is an excellent use of water. As mentioned in the video a lot of these inefficient farms are shutting down or downsizing, a necessary culling.
