Gees if you don't know what living within your means , means by now, then you have got no hope. But for the sake of the exercise an example would be, when you buy the car you can afford or can justify, then put the amount of fuel through it that you can afford or can justify, or, you have a credit card and spend however much you can afford to spend or can justify......living within your means or capabilities..... Having your own power system eg solar panels or a wind generator of a size that you need, or can justify within your capabilities, then use the amount of power that, that system can supply......living within your means.... Most people don't think of power like that, they just take it for granted, then pay they pay the power company. Most people don't think of growing their own food, they just pay the supermarket. I don't take these things for granted. I don't like being held to ransom by r soles. Two examples are, that I grow as much of my food as I need or that I can justify, and I make as much power as I need or can justify, within my means or capabilities. The changes that the world is going through at the moment will see people become more interested in living the most efficient way possible just to survive. My parents lived through recessions and wars. They knew what it meant to have something stored away for a rainy day that the government couldn't take off them, like the grubmint is doing right this minute. Most people cant even see it happening. They taught me those principles.
The reason for the comment above is like the poster, most people just continuously criticize the system or the managers or suppliers of that system, but they don't take any responsibility for their own behavior or doing things themselves. They don't have any answers that would work, and the reality is that they voted for the system they criticize, That is why the world is stuffed. Those who make the laws are never held responsible for the results of their actions and usually, they don't even have to abide by those laws. It is easy to make laws you don't have to abide by......
I was brought up to take responsibility for my own actions and don't continuously criticize anything that I am not prepared to do myself.
