Everyone should assess their own situation and make plans to cope, is your house livable without power for the A/C or heater
Can you cook or light the basic lights to live and have a wood fire, BBQ or bottled gas.
Do you have lots of food in the freezer ? which will only last 24 hours before you have to throw it out ?
Not fear mongering just prudent common sense, the sort that people in the country have lived with for most of their lives
