Is Argentina preparing for nationalisation of Lithium?, page-36

I subscribe to countless publications and forums in Latin America (in Spanish). Lithium Is on the table and In process of negotiation between the different regulatory bodies. Argentina's plan is to use lithium as collateral for their heavy debt burden in USD. Government and international creditors need a solution to the impasse on delays in making the payments as they should do to avoid more investment downgrades. Lithium offers a good outcome because prices are established in USD. Argentina wants to grow and restructure its debt in a way the government can allocate its taxable income in a productive strategy. Sacrificing the lithium industry is on top of the shelf. I am aware this will come over as a shock to some of you but if you think about it rationally and analyze in depth the chosen path of the other leading country producers of lithium in the triangle and you add to the equation that Argentina is deeply socialist, you no longer would hesitate what is really at play here.
