Quite possibly, and let's hope there's some basis to that. I still question why now. There have been collaborations, so it would already have been beneficial, and why not just announce it at the time of the agreement?
Personally I hope that he's just as p'd off at the position of the company (like many of us) and demanded a seat at the big table, so he could be a part of the strategy, direction and decision making in an official capacity.
