Although they didn't give me a reason for the delay, and I didn't press them for one, there are many reasons for materials delay currently, so your assumption is rather brash.
I've just wasted over two hours chasing render after finding it unavailable from two major suppliers. It's happening all over, reducing productivity and profit.
