i am an even bigger amateur investor than you to be honest, i usually go about buying and selling on pure GUT instinct alone, i bought DRE at 4c as a total punt, i was gonna sell it for 5c but than i started reading all these posts and it convinced me to hold and ive been holding ever since, so with me its a wait and see approach, i know whatever i do ill regret it, if i sell now, DRE will be 50c in a few yrs, if i dont sell now, the DOW will probably crash and DRE will be back to 5c and ill be kicking myself for not locking in my profits, if we actually got to 24c this year i would seriously consider selling at least half my stock, and just keep the rest as a punt.
