What evidence do you have to suggest they were anything other than a "standard client"? How has the relationship changed? imec still performing services for a fee / stake in the outcome...

also a couple of educational clarifications for your earlier post:

re: testing equipment, annoucement on 10 Feb 2022 outlines the details and you can see on their quarterly activities statement that the difference in spend of ~$600k between Q2FY22 and Q3FY22 covered imec payments (€600k made in two payments Jan and April 2022), removal of the pay freeze AND the test equipment. So it cannot have cost them "millions" as you suggested.

also a quick lesson in NDAs - they are effective as an "agreement" and for all intents and purposes are a contract restricting parties from using / disclosing information for reasons other than explicitly agreed in the NDA. They are not necessarily tied to delivery services and can standalone from other agreements, thus money does not have to be involved.

you writing stuff in bold or sign off your posts with "IMO" doesn't make you right about, or cover up your ineptitude, for things that are black and white (like the above).

IMO (and yes this is truly an opinion) you should work a bit harder on educating yourself before posting on here.
