oh, and brother2 has just sold his old apartment, the one he bought many years ago from his employer (general practice in the old days) and was renting out after moving into his new one in 2004 (bought off plan before built). It's been his dream to own a car, his very own car. That's what he is going to do with the money: buying his own car. I told him he is selling an appreciating investment asset for a depreciating consumer asset and that he should keep that rental apartment and stick to his bike or use the city bus. No, he wouldn't listen. He wants a CAR, period! So he is spending one third of the money from the old apartment sale to buy a car, a stinking car. He is 44 years old. I guess he is entitled to a bit of self satisfaction, a little western indulgence, a bit of fun driving around his own car, feeling proud.
