Raising the speed limit is an interesting concept.60+ years ago the speed limit was 60 MPH ,which is slightly more than 100kph ,on mainly gravel roads in various states of repair and in top heavy vehicles.Nowdays the limit is 100kph even on 4 lane super highways, whether the car is a Barina or a Mercedes AMG capable of 200kph on the autobahn. The most dangerous driving I have seen is on the Bruce Highway around Gympie where someone has decided the road is danderous (it is impatient drivers ,not the road)and the speed limit has been reduced to 90kmp causing much driver impatience and road rage thus increasing the accident rate and proving them right (sic).Impatient drivers are the biggest menace on the road IMO.
