Even if I wanted to vote for Mr Rudd, I would not be able to do so because I am not registered to vote in the electorate of Griffith. Alas, I live in the electorate of Wills, a very safe Labor seat. But I have never voted for the Labor candidate (Mr Thomson) since I have lived here.
I Always vote for an independent. Both Liberal and Labor candidates go last on my ticket. So I really don't know who gets my number one vote until the day of the poll.
For those of you whom believe we have an USA type electoral system (I know that the media here like to portray us as having such a system), but you had better have a read of the Australian Constitution to learn how members are elected to the house.
