What's interseting to read is all the reports out now in the US.
Another i found interesting was from EOG.
On their rocky mountains acreage.
"Eog hold 1.5m net acres in the rocky mountain area including 500000 net acres in the williston basin of north dakota and montana available for exploration in the bakken and 3F plays.
In addition eog also holds acreage in the rocky mountain area relating to certain potential exploration and development prospects which eog is currently evaluating.
EOG will have limited drilling activity on it's natural gas assets within the rocky mountains area and will primarily focus on exploiting and expanding the oil resource plays."
I don't expect them to review every well for a $2.5b company but it looks like they are still keeping their cards close to their chest in regard to their horizontal well in the niobrara that had an initial flow rate of 1700bopd.It was not mentioned once in their report and they are not looking for gas so this must be what they are evaluating.
Entek have 2 wells in the niobrara but only vertical that are due to be put into production this month but you will hear more about niorbrara in the coming year like the bakken and horizontal completion also.
That's why think ssn is good in the short term and long term if oil is above $US80 a barrel.Just like the bakken the oil is not in pools but uniform through the shale and they are working out how to extract it and it's becoming more economical.
