They just converted the Notes, didn't buy on market.
So their investment was $4m. Now they have 8.8 mil HZR shares, plus 1.6m (from memory?) unlisted free options. Even if they sell the whole lot @50c, they are still making a profit of ~$1m
These investment firms never care what the company is doing. They invested $4m in HZR because the deal was too good for them.
