    No, Net would not have protected Optus, also as the software was developed in CHina Optus would not have been allowed to implement it within their network, any overseas software implemented within an Australian Telco has to get permission from the Telecommunications Authourity, which they would not give.

    Net is essentially an SDWAN with VPN extension so would be no different that what they already use, what they could have used is one of the new platforms that are emerging in this space which encrypt IP addresses and make network assets go dark, there are a few now available mostly out of the US
