Australia already has shown that it has limited electricity generation capacity.
EV's are cool, for sure, but not really that practical.
I'd be much more for expanding and improving the interstate rail network, and encouraging people to purchase motorcycles or even very small ICE covered vehicles for general commuting.

Arguing that "evidence points to this being a certainty" is not the same as "evidence points to this certainly being a good idea".
Mate, if I owned a Cruiser, or even a Hilux surf, zero percent chance I would ever sell it. They make nothing comparable these days.
