I don't think that is why the wages are so high.

Competition from the mining sector is still strong, the trades are still in demand in Victoria for new dwelling construction and the governments school halls, outdoor areas, libraries etc.

The Stimulus in many ways has adversely effected the cost of many necessary state and federal projects and in turn vicar verse.

Just look at how this Wonthaggi project has blown out in costs. Also there are reports emerging that the large influx of money into the building sector via the school building project has led to some projects costing up to three times what they would of before the GFC.

Can you see the pattern?
