Shooting the breeze on ADO, page-2370

I like a good wordplay. Nice one.
I know what I have to say isn’t pleasant for holders and I certainly know how grating it would come across (friendly fire only sorry - the extra relish is only served up to the deceitful posters here).
But here’s what I can’t reconcile. If I have read the tea leaves correctly and a raise is very much on the way - if your money is invested, your family’s money, your own welfare - why place no stock in that analysis when it is honestly given and could save you money?

If a raise is called soon, and I’m compelled to think it will be, is it not better to be wary of the person saying, “there there” as a typhoon is coming, rather than the person warning you a typhoon is coming?
