get a deal done, stop the fight and the USA has a defacto, newly minted, combat trained, elite and heavily armed army group, called the Ukrainian Armed Forces
Provide them with security guarantee, stop the sustainment challenge and move in with full air cover, air base etc .. Russia accepts because they get some burned out toxic territory and can carry on with the 'great Russia' blah blah and West Ukraine can become the next South Korea
The West cannot simply manufacture and supply indefinitely
