The info I’ve seen is that natural gas makes up 27% of German energy. Of that 27%, 50% is from Russia (Europe Aldo imports Russian oil). The percentages fluctuate from various news sources but they are more or less in the same ball park. No this isn’t just Trump saying it, it is all over the place. Although Germany isn’t 100% dependent on Russian gas, their economy is never less dependent on it in a big way. Look at gas prices in Europe, plus some countries are now saying sanctions on Russia should be removed because their economies are “suffering” because of the sanctions. If Europe wasn’t so dependent on Russian gas, then we shouldn’t see such a dramatic effect on their economies/cost of living of Russian gas imports were stopped. But that’s exactly what is happening. But of course, Trump said Europe is too dependent on Russian energy and everyone says he’s wrong. If he says that the sky is blue then I’ll expect screams of “no it’s not, it’s red”
