In a fight between proto-fascists and fascists, I would always side with the proto-fascists. In a fight between social democrats and communists, I would side with social democrats. There is no such thing as 'squeeky clean' in this world, but there is still an ability to differentiate and you infering that all world leaders are on the level of a creature such as Putin speaks of an inability to differentiate.
In a speech that was supposed to be devoted to the 'annexation' of Ukrainian territory, it was instead given over to vast bellyache of greviances against the US, 'Anglo-Saxons', the West - and an endless series of dog whistles to the far right in the West. So why is this man dog whistling to the far right in the West? Why is he also dog whistling to the left with his gripes about hegemony? What is he hoping will happen?
