It was AWE that paved the way for the Kingia/High Cliff play with Waitsia. I too used to think that STX paved the way, but then found out it was AWE with Waitsia that opened it all up. At that time, Bruce Clements was steering the ship and signing the cheques at AWE. The cheques paid for extending the drill beyond the target depth...even though they had already hit the planned pay zone. AFAIK The well site staff reported continuing gas shows and recommended extending the drill. Bruce backed them. That decision to extend the drill gave rise to Waitsia discovery. STX and MIN/NWE are sitting on those shoulders. Interestingly, Bruce had left AWE well before it got taken over. I was very very happy however when NWE got him on board...just before the LD discovery.I had a closer look at the gravity.
There is def a gravity high where Lead E is shown. And the LD structure may extend all the way to the eastern bounding fault...going by the gravity. I can not comment on the other points you made on the dip of the structure, as you really need to see the seismic sections and the 3D picture. All that aside, the potential for a gas filled 150 km2 structure is truly a scary proposition. The problem is that no one is game enough to say that the high case could be looking like 5... I was pretty bullish from the onset...but my mind never went this far. The biggest fear people will have is being ridiculed in the case they are wrong.
Lets see what the Ringneck2D data tells us.
