This statement is blatantly incorrect. The scheme you refer to was abolished under Health Minister Dr Michael Wooldridge in 1996. Tony Abbott clearly was not the responsible Minister then was he.
In 2007 Mr Tony Abbott infact was in charge of a Medicare funded dental scheme that initiated and extended dental treatment to the very sick by increasing immediate dental allowances from $2,000 to $4,250.
