Are you aware of the multitude of self proclaimed autonomous regions? Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), Crimea is one as well. Just like Russia has a bunch, just like a lot of countries.

Ukraine was not a unified nation state there are many factions and these factions sometimes fight. In this case it seems they fought back against the coup and illegitimate government.

Is it all true? Who knows, but cannot just ignore one side of the equation. And I doubt people would file thousands of lawsuits against their own government if nothing was going on.
