if a nuclear war starts between russia and US/NATO it will have a life of it's own and not something controlled it would be likely the residual radiation would move in weather patterns over time and kill all humans and many other species do you remember the old film ...."on the beach"?
if you could survive that then there is the problem later in the soil , growing food and ingesting alpha emitters which I'm guessing would kill , certainly encourage cancers .
chances not good for anything like 25% , likely not for any at all .
