Extending that desert island scenario a bit further, consider this:
If someone offered you $1.10 for your shares based upon the announcements over the past few months (and remember, you have no idea of the stockmarket price..though when you last looked it was 85 cents), would you take it?
The simple fact is that VALUE is an absolute, not a comparative.
In investing the value is determined by the sum of the future cash flows not what some flibbity-gibbet wants to do on the market.
Question: How do you establish the value of an asset that you never, ever intend to sell?
