Maybe they see the AUD falling rather than USD Gold rising.
Whilst high AUD gold is ok for domestic costs, a lot of mining inputs are USD based … fuel, machinery so the exchange rate will have some effect on profitability.
That’s why their interested in signing in AUD imo.
