If you thiink EVs are dangerous now; baby you ain't seen nothing yet. In an endeavour to increase charge density, the clearances between plates will have to be reduced. Therefore EVs run the risk of the Samsung Syndrome.
As the clearance between the plates decreases the insulator gets thinner, thereby making the batteries more prone to shorting. I know the Samsung Phone disaster was not Samsung's fault - try telling that to the bloke whose nuts nearly got incinerated by his Samsung Mini-furnace.
I would suggest that you carry a couple of Lithium rated extinguishers. They are red, with an oatmeal coloured band, in place of the white band on the dry powder ones.
