I do appreciate a "cutty has it wrong" - then proceeds to offer nothing that substantiates the claim - other than bring up another issue.
There is no misunderstanding.
If you don't pay tax you don't deserve a refund. Pretty simple.
No equity? Again, back to the presumption the tax paid by a company is somehow owed to a low income earner, because they are paying in most cases zero tax.
I hate putting out the derogatory 'boomer' comments - but seriously.
If someone with an effective tax rate below 30% thinks they are hard done by - because they can't write down their tax even more, or claim a refund, it seems very... very rich.
But then again, I am sure the next generation will benefit from the range of perks baby boomers have lived off... not.
