This is a patience game - equity markets around the world are under pressure and rapidly pricing in a global recession. Stocks like STA, despite the compelling fundamentals, simply get hurt in the general sell-off. I suppose you could argue that a recession would put downward pressure on the prices of the commodities in the STA portfolio but to date prices are still well above the levels noted in the company's financial studies
Hopefully, the US inflation data this week shows a clear sign of deceleration- regardless, this company will very likely be generating annual cash flows significantly higher than its previous forecasts
Shareholders may have to endure another 3 to 6 months of an underperforming share price... beyond that it's hard not to see a big re-rate
