This is absolutely massive news. For those concerned about an imminent coal price drop and have not been convinced by the staunch facts supplied by posters inside this forum then look no further.
This key contract essentially acts as a price guide for the following year for Asian coal markets. It is telling us that until the end of 2023 (14 months!) that we can expect coal prices to stay close to the $400/usd level. Plug that into your earnings calculators and see if the excel spreadsheet can add enough 0's...When this sink's in I think we are going to see a strong run in thermal producers. What a perfect lead into the quarterly this time next week.
