So they had to “get rid of” Peter, one of the presumably most important and valuable persons in the company (at least when looking at his salary)?
While some of their competitors are conquering the market with a lot of recent funding, they have been busy with cut-back exercises and doubtful acquisitions for the last 2-3 years. All such decisions are made by board and executive management and since Peter most probably did not decide all by himself the only logical consequence is that board and execs need to leave to get a change into the right direction.
