    I see the resistance line but I tend to just look at the VIX as a leading indicator of trend changes.

    The bear markets of '98, '01, '08, '10, '11, '15, '18 and '20 all had one thing in common. Those bear markets didn't buck trend until VIX nudged 48.

    VIX hasn't broken 40 yet in this bear market. The market is stuck in this mindset of "get this over and done with so it can flush out everyone but me". The market's is still too smug about this all imo. When we see VIX break 40 and push up to the high 40's, that'll be the signal imo that we're seeing genuine capitulation and good queue to bid into the sellers.
