Based on the impact to grids already, cost per unit of power for consumers, the renewable additions would be the cause. It has been graphed out, the higher the % of renewables the higher the cost and fragility of the grid. Germany is a perfect example.

Did we not have some pollie recently say electricity would be increasing by ~35% next year? Admittedly coal is also up hugely this year.

But when you need 100% peaking capacity as backup in a '100% green grid' that is an expensive grid for consumers of electricity. One rife with outages. Gas is the only viable option for peaking capacity at scale.

Meanwhile CCP is putting in vast quantities of modern reliable baseload power generating capacity, in addition to whatever green initiatives they might have. While we close ours without replacement, and industrial input costs are putting people out of business.

That said I happen to believe in IXR and that they will play an important part. Microgrids with renewables are probably the future at the domestic level.

    Peace.
