Kenneth
as usual people like Dawkins use distortion of the facts to come up with answers that seem on the surface to make sense, but when looked at a little deeper, crumble up into to little bits of distortion from whence they came.
It is surprising to me that you say that "the idea that someone would send their child to be tortured for the good of mankind is a bit bizarre?" And that you agree with Dawkins in pointing it. And then you ask, would we do the same? Well, for your information......
This is exactly what people have been doing throughout the ages. Haven't you heard of war.....what does ANZAC day mean to you....many children were sent to die and be tortured in battle for the good of their fellow man. History is full of selfless people who were martyrs for their just causes, as it was full of people like Dawkins who lived useless selfish lives in detriment of their fellow man.
The concept of dying for a cause is far from bizarre...otherwise Kenny today you and your mate Dawkins would be slaves to the Japanese!
