Whilst I understand the importance of technical analysis to improve the likelihood of getting the timing right for entering or exiting a trade, I fail to understand how people rely on TA alone. It's the fundamentals of the business, macro factors, M&A and analyst coverage that are driving the changes in share price.

Here you have a company printing cash, probably about to pay another quarterly dividend (A40c already paid in 6 months), the rumoured subject of a takeover by Peabody and you sell out because you set a stop loss of $2.03. At the end of the day it was back at $2.06 and now could be taken over at any time. Then you have the long term outlook for metallurgical coal which should stay strong, and the current pricing dislocation with thermal and coking reverting in due course.
