Well when I say sparingly I mean I am not a full time trader as some are. They usually have the pro platforms. For the type of trading I do, which usually has a longer-term view ie longer than a day or two, I prefer to learn the movements of a stock by understanding and watching it closely rather than rely on lots of signals. There's some things you just can't portray in graphs.

I probably trade 30% of my holdings, most of my investments are longer-term.
