I'm surprised more people haven't been discussing Mark's comments about Talnode-Si no longer being a future battery tech, but rather a "near term" tech that many customers are fast-tracking and Talga will have more to say about soon!

The comments about the interest coming from battery cell makers/Auto OEMs using LFP battery chemistry who are particularly attracted to the tech as it improves the energy density of the battery to be more comparable with NMC batteries. For those who listened to the first part of the interview, Matt Fernley and Cormack were basically saying virtually none of the European OEMs were pursuing LFP battery tech, whereas China has gone pretty hard into switching to that chemistry.

Therefore, it begs the question, who might the OEM be that is chasing Talga pretty hard for its Taldone-Si, given I suspect Mark will prioritise supplying the European market?

Could we see the next offtake agreement with a OEM being Talnode-Si instead of Talnode-C?

What sort of price point can we expect for Talnode-Si relative to Talnode-C? Not many genuine competitors in this space - so pricing could be very interesting.

Mark seems to have gone quiet on future expansion plans for Talnode-Si into the UK and Simon Moores has documented how the UK has failed to attract enough Tier 1 cell makers to the country. Therefore, I suspect Talga's focus with major customers such as ACC who's battery plants will be in France, Germany and Italy will remain in mainland Europe.

Mark recently commented that Talnode-Si was being commercialised in Talga's Rudolstadt factory in Germany, rather than Sweden. I will refrain from speculation, but I know 1 very high profile Auto OEM who has LFP battery chemistry with a large plant in Germany that could be a very logical first customer for Talnode-Si.

Look forward to seeing how this plays out.
