Antibiotics are sometimes split into the following two catagories:

1. Concentration dependent
2. Time dependent

Simply speaking, concentration dependent antibiotics achieve incrementally better killing the more concentration increases above MIC. Time dependent achieve better killing the longer the concentration is maintained above MIC.

Some antibiotics behave as a function of the two - area under the concentration-time curve.

In any case, it is important that concentrations exceed the minimum inhibitory concentration, regardless of weather concentration or time dependent.

So for Recce 327, we need a higher 1-hour IV dose to achieve desired plasma concentrations for sepsis. Potentially, we need a MUCH higher dose if any of the Recce 327 MOAs is concentration dependent. And either a MUCH higher dose, or a higher dose and repeated throughout the day if any of the Recce 327 MOAs are time dependent.

Some of the pre-clinical work was 24hr IV infusion. Maybe that will be trialed in the clinic - say 4,000mg per hour, 96,000mg total, or something.
